Diamond Beach Resort, Gold Coast Review
Australia's Gold Coast offers a fantastic choice of quality family friendly accommodation, from luxury resorts to value hotels.
The Diamond Beach Resort is situated at Broadbeach, just south of Surfers Paradise. It offers self contained accommodation at reasonable prices.
The rooms at Diamond Beach Resort were good with a choice of one, two or three bedroom units. Each room was equipped with a kitchen, microwave and dishwasher. The rooms were spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool. There was no air conditioning but there were ceiling fans in the rooms. We visited during April, so the temperature wasn't too bad, but may be a problem during the summer months. It is low rise accommodation, so you're close to everything.
The Diamond Beach Resort pool was the highlight. It was massive, stretching around the resort with a waterfall and cold spa in a cave. On the other side of a bar-b-que area was another huge pool which was heated. And was it heated. The temperature would have been 50 degrees plus. Like taking a hot bath. It also had a spa. There was also a novelty pool for young children with water cannons, fountains and boats.
There's a games room for the kids, with video games and a pool table. The resort is set in a beautifully landscaped tropical atmosphere.
The beach is only a five minute walk and the huge Pacific Fair shopping complex is ten minutes away. The Broadbeach arcade is a ten minute walk and offers plenty of dining and entertainment.
Trips to the theme parks can be organised by Diamond Beach Resort, with a bus pickup at the front door.
