We stayed for 10 nights at the Twin Towns Resort in Jan 02. A relatively new hotel in a fantastic convenient spot on the Qld/NSW border. Only 5 mins from Coolangatta airport and about 40 mins to the fun parks.
We had a standard room and managed to fit 2 adults, and kids aged 4, 2 and 4 mos. 2 double beds, a fold out sofa and a cot. A small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, plates/cutlery, sink. Room service is also available. Across the road from the surf beach and a swimming beach perfect for the little ones on the Tweed heads side. The swimming pool has a shallow end for the kids. Shopping centre, supermarkets are at your door step, choice of great restaurants (though some can be a little pricey) in Coolangatta along with the McDonalds and KFC
You also have access to another resort via a shuttle bus but we didn't manage to fit that in, the kids loved the beach too much to go anywhere much.
If you have older kids there is the Kidspace club, you can leave them there and go across to the club for dinner and a show at the club. As our kids are under 4 we had to stay there with them, the only negative about the place.
We will be staying here again, much better than the hustle and bustle up in the Broadbeach end.
